Information

The Hermitage is spectacularly situated along the Greenbrier River.

Originally built in 1965 when U.S. 250 was a busy north-south artery, today the Motel and Restaurant plays host to visitors of "Nature's Mountain Playground" West Virginia's Pocahontas County.

The Hermitage - Bartow, WV

The Hermitage is located in the Greenbrier River Valley, deep in the Allegheny Mountains on a five-acre park. The junction of two scenic mountain highways make The Hermitage a great location to visitors of the Monongahela National Forest, train rides at Cass and Durbin, Radio Astronomy at Green Bank, skiing at Snowshoe Mountain or visiting any of the historic towns and villages of this part of Appalachia.

The Hermitage, an updated 47 unit motel with a casual restaurant, has served over three generations of families who come back to visit the mountain treasures of West Virginia's Potomac Highlands. Come and find out why reasonable rates and good food make us the best place for enjoyable mountain activities.

With popular mountain attractions surrounding us, you will discover why
The Hermitage is
"a retreat in the middle of it all".

Located in northern Pocahontas County WV at the junction of routes 250, 92 and 28
